Post 2066 - Lake County Sheriff, Waukegan, IL

Welcome to the Lake County Sheriffs Explorer Post 2066.

Law Enforcement exploring is a program sponsored by the BoyScouts of America.  The program allows members to learn firsthand about acareer in law enforcement from actual members of the Lake County Sheriff’sdepartment and the law enforcement community.

This program offers explorer training, explorer details, andexplorer competitions in both the state and national levels.

If you are interested you must be 14-20 years of age, must be alake county resident, maintain a  "C" average inschool,  no criminal history and must be drug and alcohol free.

Interest in law enforcement is preferred with the willingness tovolunteer in law enforcement activities as needed, and must commit toregular meetings twice a month.

This is open to both male and females, ( a co-ed post).

Law Enforcement Exploring is a hands-on program open to youngmen and women who have completed the 6th grade through 20 years old,interested in a career in law enforcement or a related field in the criminaljustice system.

The program offers young adults a personal awareness of thecriminal justice system through training, practical experiences, competition,and other activities. Additionally, the program promotes personal growththrough character development, respect for the rule of law, physical fitness,good citizenship and patriotism.
