Which Scout group is for you?

"Scouting" has 4 groups, 3 of which are associated with our Charter Organization.  Mostly, participation is dictated by your age/grade but as you grow older, options expand to fit into your interests and personal abilities.

CUB SCOUT "PACK"- for boys 1st through 5th Grade, ages 6 to 10

BOY SCOUT "TROOP" - for boys 11 years of age through their 18th birthday

VENTURING "CREW" -  COED (guys and gals) age 14 through their 21st birthday

EXPLORER SCOUT "POST" - a subsidiary of the BSA for boys 14-21 years of age, a workforce-based focused on a single interest like Law Enforcement, Firefighting, or Engineering.

The Boy Scouts of America makes no secret of our mission: to raise youth who are equipped to make ethical decisions over their lifetime. Per the National website:

"The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.

For over a century, the BSA has helped build the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes — and, through over a century of experience, knows — that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society."

HOW we teach is what makes this Program special.  Through ADVENTURE and FUN (methods), Scouts have fun and stay entertained while learning a variety of skills and overcoming physical and personal challenges to put teamwork, communication, planning, and leadership (aims) into practice.   The METHODS lead to teaching the AIMS and uphold the concept, "Fun... with a purpose."
