STEPS TO JOIN OUR PACK

Cub Scouts is FUN!  You learn skills, have adventures, grow spiritually, physically, and mentally, and strengthen families.  We meet every Thursday at 6:30 pm in the Leroy Collins Elementary School Cafeteria.  The address is 12424 Summerfield Blvd, Riverview, FL 33579.  Collins Elementary is located in the middle of the Panther Trace Community between US Highway 301 and Balm Riverview Road.  Boys are assigned to “Dens” based upon their grade in school.  Dens meet each week.  The last Thursday of the month is reserved for our Pack meeting.

In order for your son to join Cub Scout Pack 606, you must do the following:

1.  Complete a youth application.  If your son is in 1st grade, at least one parent/guardian must complete an adult application as well.

2.  Complete a Family Talent Survey Sheet for each boy and parent/guardian.

3.  Complete a BSA Talent Release Form authorizing your Scout to have his picture taken during Pack 606 activities and used for official BSA activities later.

4.  Complete a BSA Annual Health and Medical Record Form for your Scout and any adult/sibling that may attend Cub Scout activities outside of the normal Den or Pack meetings (e.g. campouts, field trips, etc.).

5.  Read the Pack 606 Standard Operations Procedures (SOP) and Bylaws.  Sign ANNEX B, Parent/Guardian Bylaw Pack Obligation and Bylaws Acknowledgement Statement.

6.  Pay the BSA Registration Fee and Pack 606 dues.

*NNOTE:  See Attached Forms at the bottom of this page.

FEES

Boy Scouts of America and Cub Scout Pack 606 2016 fees are as follows:

$24.00:  BSA National Registration Fee per Scout

$100.00:  Annual Pack 606 program dues (prorated depending on when you join)

$12.00:  Optional Boy’s Life Magazine subscription for $1 per month (recommended)

TOTAL FEES:  $136.00*

*The BSA National Registration Fee is an annual fee that goes directly to BSA and is due in full upon joining the Pack.  The pack's dues will be prorated based on the month you join.  The year begins in January.  If you join in September, you would participate less than someone who began in March.  Dues pay for Pack programs such as your Scout's monthly awards, pinewood derby kits and track operation, camping supplies, etc.  Boy's Life Magazine is highly recommended as it shares interesting activities, pictures, stories, and experiences that will enrich your Scout's adventure.  You may incur additional fees depending on what activities your family chooses to participate (e.g. Scout Nights at the Tampa Bay Rays or Lightning, BSA Camping at Disney World or the infield of the Daytona 500, etc.).  Fundraising is the key to minimizing your out of pocket expenses during your son's Scouting adventure.
