Tiger Den Information

Thanks for your interest in Scouting! Newton Cub Scout Pack 210 is a great group -- well-organized but laid back, non-denominational. We currently have boys from all around Newton (Ward, Cabot, Bowen, Angier, Countryside, Franklin, Mason Rice, Memorial Spaulding), and this year we are able to welcome girls into Cub Scouting for the first time!

The Pack meets regularly each month, September - May, normally at the Carroll Center for the Blind “Tech Center” on Centre Street (next to Mt. Alvernia High/across from Newton Country Day) or elsewhere for an activity, and the five grade-based Dens each also meet regularly once a month as well. (So two weeknight meetings per month during the school-year.)  We also have, on average, one optional weekend outing a month like a hike or a camping trip/overnight adventure.  Our Pinewood Derby is a great event, held every February.

Check the Pack 210 2018-2019 Schedule and lots of other information (Parents’ Guide etc.) and more general information on the Cub Scout program is available from the Boy Scouts of America.

Our dues will be $150 for the year, which includes a scout handbook (there is one for each of the 4 levels), all awards given, many (but not all) Den and Pack events/activities (e.g., admission &/or group reservation fees, food at certain events, etc.), and things like BSA regional and national dues. We ask each Scout to separately buy their own uniform shirt and neckerchief.

Tiger Den Logistics

All meetings are from 6:15-7:00pm unless otherwise noted. Please arrive early so we can start promptly at 6:15pm.

Gathering activities will available for the kids so they can mingle and stay occupied (and work towards their Bobcat badge!) before the start of the Den meeting

If you miss a meeting, please refer to your handbook or https://cubscouts.org/library/welcome-to-tiger-cub-scouting/

for a list of requirements needed so your child can catch up at home to complete their belt loop
